Greenhouse Ventilation
Our greenhouse ventilation systems provide dependable airflow control for commercial glasshouses and polytunnels. Designed to suit new installations or upgrades, each system is specified around the structure, crop and site conditions.
We supply rack and pinion roof and side vent systems, roll-up sides for polytunnels, chain actuated openers and both variable speed and on or off extraction fans. The rack and pinion system remains the most common solution in horticulture, typically using a Huima gearmotor to drive a galvanised torque tube along each section, supported on zinc plated bearers. Aluminium rack and pinions are fitted to each opener, with straight or curved racks to match the greenhouse design.
Systems can be fully integrated with electrical panels and climate controllers. Dedicated programmes manage windward and leeward vents, single-sided ventilation, fans and cooling pads. Adjustable wind and rain limits help protect crops and structures during adverse conditions, while maintaining stable temperature and humidity levels.

FAQs
Rack and pinion ventilation systems are widely regarded as the most reliable option for glasshouses. They provide consistent mechanical movement across long vent runs and are suitable for integration with automated climate control systems.
Yes. Vent motors, fans and cooling systems can be connected to compatible greenhouse control systems, allowing automated management of temperature, humidity and weather protection settings.
Control software allows operators to set maximum vent opening limits based on wind speed and rain detection. The system will automatically reduce or close vents to protect crops and the greenhouse structure when thresholds are exceeded.
